Court Cards

Each Court Cards feature majestic portraits of the Shinto Gods, framed in all their divine glory in ceremonial garb. From the benevolent Ōkuninushi to the majestic Amaterasu, each deity embodies a chapter of the mythic gathering at Izumo. Like the number cards, they are woven together by the sacred shimenawa, creating a seamless, endless panorama when fanned, visually uniting the divine council in a single, connected story.

Number Cards

These Number Cards capture the joyous assembly of hares as they herald the coming of the gods. Each card features a unique hare, celebrated in a moment of reverent anticipation. The number cards feature a transformation deck, where the pips elegantly evolve into rabbits.

When fanned or laid in sequence, the cards reveal their true magic: strands of fate run through each card, revealing an endless, unbroken panorama, a visual testament to the divine bonds of en. This continuous connection can be fully appreciated when displayed as a beautiful uncut sheet.

Card back

Animated Whirling Gateway Card Backs

The card back design fuses two potent motifs: the sacred shimenawa (標縄), symbolizing the binding connection of en (fate), and the protective omamori (御守結び), representing divine blessing and guidance. Together, they form a central "Knot of Fate" flanked by two omamori at the corners.

When fanned or flipped, the corner knots appear to spin, creating the illusion of an endless sacred bond. Every shuffle becomes a ritual. Every deal is guided by threads of divine connection.

John H. ★★★★★

The artwork on the court cards is genuinely stunning — Amaterasu and Ōkuninushi look like tiny shrine paintings, not standard playing card faces. Fanned them out for a game night and everyone kept stopping to look at the portraits instead of playing. Easily the nicest deck I've owned.

Matthew B. ★★★★★

I bought these mainly for the court cards, and the Ōkuninushi and Amaterasu portraits in ceremonial garb are even more detailed in person than in the photos. The gold framing on each deity makes them feel like little painted panels instead of standard face cards.

Miles K. ★★★★★

The artwork on the Shinto gods is genuinely stunning, especially Amaterasu in her ceremonial garb. I've been using them for weekly poker nights and everyone keeps asking where I got them.
